Our Committment to the Environment

A member of the Publishers National Environment Bureau, Rural Press Limited supports the initiatives undertaken by that body, and aims to minimise any impact on the environment from the production of its newspapers.

The company has standard practices in place so that all forms of waste paper are collected for recycling and manufacture into other viable paper products. Photographic plates and film are also recycled.

Economic usage of paper is also achieved through various procedures in force such as rewinding and re-using reel-ends.

Measures are in place at all sites for avoiding any contamination of the waterways that could be caused by used photographic chemicals and solvent waste used to clean ink blankets.
